‘Will I be able to move my face?’ and other FAQ filler questions

how to get rid of dark skin spots

What types of filler are there?

As a plastic surgery practice, we feel it is important to offer the most up to date and aesthetically pleasing fillers. We offer the Juvederm XC family of fillers. Juvederm Ultra is the most versatile filler that we offer. Our injectors often use it to fill fine lines and wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds, to enhance lips and for jawline augmentation. Juvederm Voluma is a staple to address midface volume loss and enhance the cheeks in a natural way. Juvederm Volbella is a versatile product in that we can use it for the undereye area, to soften vertical lips lines and for subtle lip augmentation. Lastly, we utilize Juvederm Vollure as an alternative filler for the nasolabial area.

How long do fillers last?

During your consultation, we will not only discuss which fillers are best for you, but we will discuss how long they will last and how much they cost. The Juvederm XC family of fillers lasts anywhere from up to one year to 18 months.

Will I look “plastic?”

Often patients are concerned about “looking plastic.” They feel that their face may look overdone by utilizing facial fillers. The good news? All of the fillers that we offer at SHarper Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery are made of hyaularonic acid. Hyaularonic acid is a protein that our bodies make naturally, allowing it to look and feel like a natural substance under our skin.

Will I be able to move my face?

Absolutely! Facial fillers are used to fill wrinkles, among many other things. They will not hinder the way your face moves. Botox does help to smooth fine lines, sans filler. Learn more about how Botox works by clicking here.

What if I don’t like how my filler looks?

Our expert injectors prescribe to a less is more mentality. They will complete a thorough consultation with you prior to injecting, and continue to assess how everything looks during your injectables. If for some reason you don’t like how the product looks, we can utilize an in office injectable that can dissolve the filler.
