Reverse the Signs of Aging
Wrinkles don’t occur just because of age. Hormonal changes in the body, exposure to pollution, lifestyle, and repeated usage of certain facial expressions can all cause your face to get wrinkly. We are excited to announce there is an option other than Botox® for this concern.
SHarper Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is a premier med spa in Indianapolis, reputed for offering Xeomin® anti-wrinkle treatments. Xeomin® is an FDA-approved wrinkle treatment, specifically designed to address moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles. While it is formulated using the Clostridium Botulinum bacterium – which is also used to prepare Botox® and Dysport – the process used to make Xeomin® is different. Unlike other anti-wrinkle injectables, Xeomin® is formulated using the pure incobotulinum toxin A, without the addition of any other proteins. It is the purest form of the botulinum toxin.
How Xeomin® Works
Your skin develops wrinkles when your brain sends signals that stimulate contraction in your facial muscles. Over time, these wrinkles and lines deepen and become more visible. Once injected into your treatment site, Xeomin® temporarily prevents the muscles from receiving the neurological signals that promote facial contraction. Essentially, Xeomin® is a neurotoxin that prevents further development of wrinkles by preventing facial contractions temporarily.
Who Can Use Xeomin® for Wrinkle Treatment?
Xeomin® can be used by anyone who:
- Has moderate to severe lines & wrinkles.
- Wants to reverse the signs of aging.
- Is seeking an alternative treatment to Botox®
- Requires a quick treatment to reduce the severity of facial lines.
It is recommended that women who are pregnant and breastfeeding do not get Xeomin® treatments. If you do wish to schedule one, please consult our specialists at SHarper Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. We will be able to help you plan for your Xeomin® treatment after the pregnancy/breastfeeding. Our team will offer alternative treatments that are safe for you and your baby.
Additionally, it’s best if you avoid Xeomin® if you have experienced any allergic reactions to other anti-wrinkle injectables. Finally, it’s necessary to disclose any illnesses or treatments you are currently undergoing, so we can chart your wrinkle treatment plan carefully.
How Many Sessions Do You Need?
Typically, a single session is needed to complete the Xeomin® treatment. Once you come in for a consultation at our Indianapolis skincare clinic, our experts will evaluate your cosmetic requirements and medical history and determine the number of vials to be used. They’ll also choose the treatment sites to address.
The entire Xeomin® injection treatment takes less than 30 minutes to complete. You can return to work immediately. The treated areas of your face may look a little inflamed and puffy because of the injections, but this lasts for just a few hours. Any tenderness or swelling will subside soon.
Caring for Yourself after Xeomin®
Xeomin® is a low-maintenance treatment. Our expert injectors will give you specific instructions on exercise and other lifestyle modification you may need to make for the 24 hours directly after your injectable treatment. Results from treatments typically last around three months, at which time you would want to get re-treated.
At SHarper Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, we can help you with your follow-up treatments too. Contact us to schedule a consultation.
